<p>So Pat&#8217;s car is feeling as good as ever but we&#8217;re trying to sort a &#8220;sensitive&#8221; boost controller out. As you can see. It&#8217;s either on or off. 10psi or infinity.</p>

<p>So after we got the boost controller sorted we got the car humming at 14 psi. Peak hp remains about the same but for future rounds Pat will enjoy the extra tq the extra boost will provide.</p>
<p>Next up is Brad, still high from his podium finish in Round 1. No major changes here other than the introduction of Meth injection. With no real desire to make power, the injection is really being added as a heat management strategy.</p>

<p>Success. Meth injection in and functioning. Slight tweaking required to get the AEM kit to fire at the right pressures but all sorted.</p>

<p>And the interior has now taken shape. While this car has been built for track duty, it will on occasion be street driven. It still retains a full stereo including sub, heat and a factory clean dash. Notice the tidy RacePak IQ3 logger dash install which will speak realtime to the ViPec V88 ecu.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So it seems that every time I&#8217;m at Defcon Racing doing some dyno work, they always have &#8220;Way back Wednesdays&#8221; on the radio&#8230;102.5 or something like that. It&#8217;s usually pretty funny because the night has a soundtrack of all of those crappy old club tunes you love to hate.</p>
<p>But on to work, the mule tonight is a pretty clean old Integra DA. From the outside, it looks pretty basic, but under the hood is a fully built b-series with a big Borg Warner on it. So after a pretty wacky engine break-in (the owner wanted us to do some break-in procedure he found on the internet) it was time to get this thing humming</p>

<p>With a few runs under our belts, it was time to cool the car. At low boost it was already over 400 wheel. Lionel and Dave were just chatting about the ultimate goal for the evening&#8230;perhaps the big 5 oh oh?</p>

<p>A few more runs in and time to cool again. Another staple of the Way back Wednesdays is Pizza Nova&#8230;so this break is brought to you by them.</p>

<p>So when all is said and done, the car laid down a respectible 490hp with boost pressure at 17.5psi and creeping to 20psi. The 500 goal could have been realized but the car will certainly be a handful as it is, and other than internet glory, there is little use for that much power seeing as the car sits on 195 tires.</p>

<p>G1 Racing celebrated their first win in Toronto this weekend as Sasha Anis stormed to First Place finish in the #87 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. The team had been running strong all weekend, qualifying third on Friday and taking Second Place on Saturday’s qualifying race.</p>
<p>Although the team had a difficult weekend with suspension and engines, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe has clearly demonstrated it’s performance capabilities this weekend.  Starting second on the grid, Sasha Anis briefly took the lead but Nick Wittmer in the Lombardi Honda was able to squeeze past.  However, halfway through the race, Sasha Anis was able to capitalize on the strength of the car and regain first position.  He then clearly held the position and won by a comfortable margin.</p>

<p>Sasha Anis said “It’s just crazy but wonderful.  We thought that we would be in this position by the end of the year and we’re already here with a win.  Now we need to work on reliability and development it’s a fantastic day for us.”</p>
<p>Team Owner Bob Attrell who was driving the #88 Autotrader Hyundai also commented:  “It’s not only a first for the team, but the first win for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe in North America road racing. It’s been a very successful weekend for us.  Sasha has done an amazing job driving the car.”</p>
<p>The G1 Racing team have steadily progressed over the past few races, moving up the ranks to top ten finishes and now podium finishes.  The team is looking forward to the Trois Rivieres race in three weeks time.</p>

<p>This is one amazing motor. Small displacement, high compression, high rpm = a surprising amount of power. Toss 250+ wheel into a 2,200lb chassis on Yoko slicks and you&#8217;re going to be having fun. </p>

<p>Drift Posse drivers Pat Cyr, Brad Carlton and Peter Chrisikopolous, fresh off the dyno were all prepped for a great weekend. Below are just a few shots of the action&#8230;</p>
<p>After laying down a few great practice runs, sadly Peter had a run in with the wall that lines the first bank of the course. As you can expect, any time you drive a car at 80+kph into a wall there is going to be some carnage.</p>

<p>After&#8230;doing some track side repairs. This was the pulling system we rigged up with a Suburban and a guard rail</p>

<p>After a full day of effort, we decided the car could just not get back onto the track for the next days events. Rather drag it home and fix it properly and safely. Not to worry&#8230;Peter will be back.</p>
<p>So&#8230;that was the bad news of the weekend&#8230;it only get&#8217;s better from here</p>
<p>On day two, the qualifying took place and while a number of the drivers were laying down some great runs, Drift Posse drivers Brad and Pat bubbled to the top, qualifying 1st and 2nd respectively. It was great to see and hear the fans going crazy when these two guys were on course, and when the paddocks opened, the crowds came to see the cars and meet the drivers.</p>

<p>So onto the big show&#8230;and Pat and Brad continue to lay down some impressive runs. Brad moves through the great 8 to the top 4 but sadly Pat gets knocked out by Dave Briggs (also a U2NDyno.com tuned car). Pat had a slight issue with his throttle cable that rendered his little AE86 motionless.</p>

<p>So Dave takes out Pat, but Brad defends his Drift Posse brother by serving it back to Dave in their battle that followed. Brad and Dave both drove their asses off but the judges ended up giving Brad the decision, winner of 3rd place and his first trip to the DMCC podium. Congrats &#8220;Bad&#8221; Brad Carlton.</p>

<p>Other honerable mentions for the weekend are Mats Baribeau who was holding his own in his first ever pro event and Justin Forsyth, who found out that 511rwhp may be fun for him, but not fun for his Z32 tranny&#8217;s 3rd gear.</p>

<p>Also, congrats to Marc Landerville for the big win and Matt &#8220;the Wolf&#8221; Waldin for a strong 2nd. I&#8217;m happy to say I actually helped Marc with an ECU issue the night before the event and he went on to win the whole event. That&#8217;s cool.</p>

<p>While this chassis has been in the series for a few years, it&#8217;s been remodelled now with custom front and rear tube body frames. The motor also received a little love and with boost pressure now being controlled bu the AEM EMS, it was time for a retune.</p>

<p>So like many s13 drift cars, the heart of the beast is an SR20-based platform. From the outside, it doesn&#8217;t look that remarkable. Obviously a GT30R based turbo setup with your standard bolt-ons.</p>

<p>But as my mom use to say&#8230;don&#8217;t judge a book by it&#8217;s cover. What &#8220;looks&#8221; like a standard SR20 setup may surprise you&#8230;and while I won&#8217;t go into the build details I&#8217;ll let you know that this thing chucks out the power.</p>
